Why Study Catholics as a Non-Catholic?

2/1/2021

University of Iowa professor, Kristy Nabhan-Warren, spoke in December on cultural appreciation of Our Lady of Guadalupe, both in Catholic and non-Catholic populations. Now, she speaks on what led her to choose Latino Catholic studies as her area of focus, what it is like studying the topic from an outsider-looking-in perspective, and why she thinks it's important. With our mission to examine the relationship between faith and culture, Kristy's words and work demonstrate some of the many ways in which the two intersect.
